2016 - The Beginning

It's the new year's eve of 2017 and I'm reflecting on the
 

roastery's evolution. My idea to roast coffee started moons


ago, but its foundation has been building for over 100 years.


Southeastern Roastery's coffee roasting takes place in this


100 year old plus rambler in Isle of Wight, Virginia, and was


home to my great great grandparents. It sits on a street


named for my family along the edges of the James


River in low lying swamp lands. In the mornings I smell


the fresh scent of aged juniper and listen to the sounds


of dragonflies. I'm humbled and honored to roast 
​ 

among forests and fruit trees planted by my great great


grandfather where I spent summers picking crabs, sipping


coffee with generations of my bloodline.



Many events lead us to where we are in life.


I am proud of those that have led me here.
